Dr. Thorsten Herrig
I am a research assistant and member of the Research Group Arithmetic Geometry and the Postdoctoral Faculty of the Berlin Mathematical School.
I will be absent for research in the group of Prof. Robert Lazarsfeld at Stony Brook University New York from August 2019 till July 2020 with funding from Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
My main area of research is Algebraic Geometry. Especially, I am interested in complex tori, abelian varieties and more generally, varieties of Kodaira-dimension zero. Mainly, I investigate two properties of endomorphisms. On the one hand, I ask for the behaviour of the fixed-point function, when an endomorphism is iterated, and on the other hand, I study its entropy. Further, I am interested in questions about the entropy of birational maps.
