Math Education
The subject-oriented research investigates problems of teaching, the solution of problems, and the evaluation of mathematical skills. This group furthers students with special talent in mathematics and contributes to the elementarization of mathematics. The members of the group are involved in the DFG Research Center MATHEON and the project “Mathematik Anders Machen” sponsored by the Deutsche Telekom Stiftung.
In the furtherance of mathematical talents the institute closely collaborates with four Berlin Secondary Schools within the network of schools specialized in mathematics and natural sciences.
The widespread furtherance within the competition Kangaroo of Mathematics and the promotion of excellence by the “Mathematical Society for Gifted Students “Leonhard Euler” (MSG)” complete the offers of the institute for students interested in mathematics.
