Dr. Thorsten Herrig
I am a research assistant and member of the Research Group Arithmetic Geometry and the Postdoctoral Faculty of the Berlin Mathematical School.
I was absent for research in the group of Prof. Robert Lazarsfeld at Stony Brook University New York from August 2019 till July 2020 with funding from Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
My initial research interest has been in the field of complex tori, abelian varieties and further varieties of Kodaira-dimension zero. First, I have considered the behavior of the fixed-points function, when an endomorphism is iterated on these manifolds. Such pairs, consisting of the mentioned objects and a self-map, can be viewed as dynamical systems. In additional articles, I have investigated dynamical properties of these systems like entropy and ergodicity. Further, I am interested in asymptotic perspectives in Algebraic Geometry like the volume of divisors or the mobility of numerical classes of cycles.
